Polycrisis is a word that has recently come into use to characterize the way crises in many different spheres – ranging from geopolitics and economics to climate and pandemic – are aggravating each other and even converging.
In 2024, I wrote a twelve part series of commentaries on the polycrisis.
I revisited the topic in early 2026 with another series, “Polycrisis 2.0.” This series explored the polycrisis in three parts: the current state of polycrisis; development of the polycrisis in the Trump era; and the intensification of fifteen of its dynamics, with a preliminary perspective on how the polycrisis might eventually be transcended.
The Polycrisis 2.0 series was then made into a series of videos in collaboration with Z Network.
