AN ATOKA COUNTY JURY HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE HISTORY

Posted by Jeremy Brecher

October 22, 2014   We all know that people need law – that if we all drove on whatever side of the road we wanted or harmed others with impunity whenever we got angry life would be nasty, brutish, and short. But we also know there are times when the law is unjust and wrong…. Read More »

CLIMATE DESTRUCTION IN THE COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION

Posted by Jeremy Brecher

October 3, 2014   As the leaders of more than a hundred of the world’s governments addressed the U.N. Climate Summit last week, people’s organizations from around the world convened a Climate Justice Tribunal across from the United Nations to indict political leaders and corporate polluters for their failure to protect our health, communities and… Read More »

IF NOT NOW, WHEN? A LABOR MOVEMENT PLAN TO ADDRESS CLIMATE CHANGE

Posted by Jeremy Brecher

July 24, 2014 We are on a climate change path that, unless radically altered, will lead to an unsustainable global warming of seven degrees Fahrenheit or greater. We also face the most serious employment crisis since the Great Depression, with wages that have stagnated for four decades and economic inequality now at levels not seen… Read More »

Posted by Jeremy Brecher

ABOUT JEREMY BRECHER

11You and I may not know each other, but I suspect there are some problems that we share -- problems like climate change, war, and injustice. For half a century I have been participating in and writing about social movements that address those problems. The purpose of this website is to share what I've learned. I hope it provides something of use to you in addressing our common problems.

For the record, I am the author of more than a dozen books on labor and social movements. I have written and/or produced more than twenty video documentaries. I have participated in movements for nuclear disarmament, civil rights, peace in Vietnam, international labor rights, global economic justice, accountability for war crimes, climate protection, and many others.
