THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES OF TIM COSTELLO, JASON!

Posted by Jeremy Brecher

December 16, 2009 Without OMB I might not have learned right away that he had died. What a loss to the movement! The laborstrategies blogspot suggests donating to the VNA hospice. But I find myself wishing for a progressive / labor cause to give a donation in his memory. Any readers have suggestions? What would… Read More »

December 16, 2009   I knew Tim when we were both SDS militants at the New School and later in Boston. Unlike others of us, Tim was both an active SDS member and a trucker who believed deeply in the union movement and in the possibilities for working people to change the social order and… Read More »

TIM WAS A VISIONARY, A REAL WORKER-INTELLECTUAL, AND VERY HUMAN

Posted by Jeremy Brecher

December 16, 2009   Although I knew Tim from my work at the Chinese Progressive Association, from the Campaign on Contingent Work, and from his global solidarity work, I saw the news of Tim’s death in the King Open School list-serve, since our daughters attend the same elementary school. I am shocked and saddened by… Read More »

Posted by Jeremy Brecher

December 16, 2009   By Jason Pramas   Last week, only a few days after hearing that he was ill, I got word that my friend and mentor Tim Costello had passed away. He was 64. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to speak to Tim in the last few months before he died…. Read More »

ABOUT JEREMY BRECHER

11You and I may not know each other, but I suspect there are some problems that we share -- problems like climate change, war, and injustice. For half a century I have been participating in and writing about social movements that address those problems. The purpose of this website is to share what I've learned. I hope it provides something of use to you in addressing our common problems.

For the record, I am the author of more than a dozen books on labor and social movements. I have written and/or produced more than twenty video documentaries. I have participated in movements for nuclear disarmament, civil rights, peace in Vietnam, international labor rights, global economic justice, accountability for war crimes, climate protection, and many others.
