A NEW GLOBAL WARMING POLICY FOR LABOR

Posted by Jeremy Brecher

July 5, 2007   This is the seventh piece in GLS’s series on Labor and Global Warming. By campaigning against the Kyoto agreement, and until recently remaining silent on the corporate strategy to bamboozle the American people into allowing carbon pollution to burgeon unabated, the U.S. labor movement will be widely seen as complicit… Read More »

CHALLENGING CORPORATE SECRECY IN CHINA

Posted by Jeremy Brecher

June 22, 2007   It’s hard to get accurate information about what’s really going on in China’s economy or its workplaces. This is a big problem for unions that need information about the companies they bargain with and the industries within which they operate. It’s also a problem for consumers who need to know about… Read More »

A MORATORIUM WIRED TO STOP THE WAR

Posted by Jeremy Brecher

June 18, 2007   By Brendan Smith & Jeremy Brecher   Though Americans disapprove of President Bush’s handling of the situation in Iraq by more than two to one, they don’t seem to be expressing that disapproval to anyone but pollsters. ABOUT JEREMY BRECHER

11You and I may not know each other, but I suspect there are some problems that we share -- problems like climate change, war, and injustice. For half a century I have been participating in and writing about social movements that address those problems. The purpose of this website is to share what I've learned. I hope it provides something of use to you in addressing our common problems.

For the record, I am the author of more than a dozen books on labor and social movements. I have written and/or produced more than twenty video documentaries. I have participated in movements for nuclear disarmament, civil rights, peace in Vietnam, international labor rights, global economic justice, accountability for war crimes, climate protection, and many others.
